Remembering Aunt Gertrude
You have been in our thoughts so much as you walk through this valley in your lives. Losing the matriarch of the family seems to make grief a bit deeper and more difficult to bear. That one that we always went to, no matter what our age, when we were hurting, who wiped our tears, bandaged our knees, soothed our ruffled feathers, and made things better isn't here to help us through one of the greatest losses we will experience. When we lost Mom two years ago, it seemed like all the earthly moorings were shaken. And without Mom here to share memories and love, it was almost like losing our dad again, even though it had been 33 years. Suddenly, at 54, I felt like an orphan! How blessed we were to have such wonderful moms that losing them leaves such a hole in our lives. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this sad time.
